Review by hotel critic
Balinese Onsen Ryokan Hakone Airu, nestled in the tranquil Hakone Yumoto Onsen district, offers a fusion of Japanese tradition and Balinese charm. the room and view are highlights - our private onsen on the 4th floor provided a breathtaking panorama, while the amenities ensured a cozy stay. the warm hospitality of the mostly non-Japanese staff added a delightful touch, especially the bartender's enthusiasm for introducing us to Japanese whiskey. Conveniently located near the train station, the ryokan is a serene retreat on a quieter street, albeit up a steep hill. the authentic Japanese breakfast surpassed our expectations, outshining even the dinner. With alkaline hot spring water baths in each room, the ryokan prioritizes guests' comfort and relaxation. While not the epitome of a traditional Japanese ryokan, Balinese Onsen Ryokan Hakone Airu offers a unique blend of cultures, perfect for those seeking a different, yet equally enriching, experience in Hakone. As a culinary critic and sake enthusiast, this ryokan's attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction make it a top recommendation for travelers looking to unwind and savor the essence of Japanese hospitality with a touch of Balinese flair.
